My first time pass illustrates the level to which you are taught here at You Can Drive by Richard. Richard is a brilliantly patient, reliable and professional instructor, who has made me into a safe and confident driver. He picked up on, and helped me work through, mistakes and gaps in my driving knowledge that my previous instructor did not. I looked forward to every one of our lessons. In particular, I really liked that at the end of each lesson he'd give me the opportunity to reflect on what I did well and how I could improve for next time.
I passed for the first time with Richard. After previously failing four driving tests with other driving instructors I was ready to give up on driving completely. If it wasn’t for Richards patience and knowledge I wouldn’t have carried on with my lessons. Richard helped me create discipline in my driving and genuinely wants you to be a good driver, I can’t recommend him enough.

Learning with You Can Drive was a great experience, I gained confidence on the road and also the rules of the road. Richard was very comforting and helped out whenever he needed to and he was very easy to get along with! I highly recommend this service if you are anxious about driving for the first time or even if you’re not and you just want a nice instructor!

I was quite anxious about learning to drive but Richard made me feel confident with my driving skills from the start. I liked that he focuses on how to be a good driver, not just how to pass the test, which has definitely made me a better driver.
My driving instructor was extremely good. I felt like he made me understand the way to drive better, he made me feel less confused. And also answered any questions i had clearly. I was very scared and alittle uncomfortable driving too and alittle confused. He made me understand so much better . And make me believe that I can do it .i can make my own decision. I have seen so much change in me. I look in mirror and say it I can do it my driving test it for my future. He did everything he could to guide me and help me pass my test and i did. He was very helpful and i found him to very experienced in driving and teaching. I passed after 20 hours of driving with this great instructor. I highly recommend him.
Richard is a very detailed driving instructor. Being a very nervous person it was very difficult to overcome the fear of driving. He always discussed my fears, asked me to recognise my mistakes and gave me confidence. Thanks to him i passed the test at first attempt.

A brilliant, honest, hardcore driving instructor. Richard doesn’t mince his words, but is so patient and so kind. He’s disciplined and focused and instills this in his students. He reinstated the confidence which I had to lost in myself. He’s compassionate and fierce, Richard does not teach you to drive to pass. He teaches you to drive for life. So that you have an awareness of everything he pushes you out your comfort zone. He’s a mixture of discipline, compassionate and patient. Richard goes above and beyond. Whomever has the honor of having him as a driving instructor is lucky. But they should ensure that they do not waste his time. Richard is a fantastic driving instructor and also a very nice human being. I was such a nervous learner driver. I failed few test and changed driving instructor twice, I got lucky third time by finding him. He really did his best to overcome my fear. He was very patient and compassionate to my situation. He really disciplined me to do all the routine. He will push his students hard but only for our own good. He is a very innovative teacher. He sacrificed his time when he felt I needed more time. I can't thank him enough for helping me the way he did. Because of him I actually start to enjoy driving! I will definitely recommend him as a driving instructor to everyone. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support, patience, hard work and encouragement you have given me.
I am really pleased with my driving instructor, Richard. He is supportive of my strengths and weeknesses whilst being able to push me to do better. I had a long break between my last time driving and in the time given I would say we managed to get my driving skills back up to shape reasonably well!
Richard doesn’t just teach you how to pass your test, but he teaches you how to drive in the real world. My instructor before Richard really knocked my confidence but then Richard built that back up so quickly. He has so much time and patience for his students and you can see he genuinely wants them to pass. When I started driving with Richard I wasn’t very confident on the road at all and being an older woman it took me longer to take things in,but with Richard’s patients and understanding he got me through my test,I couldn’t have done it without him.

I just wanted to say it's been one week since I passed and it has been amazing to be able to get around! I just wanted to thank you again for your guidence and patience and hope that I will see you in a couple of weeks for motorways! I highly recommend u can drive . I started of a very nervous, learner driver , I'd had lessons with other driving instructors but I never seemed to progress very far , but with Richards continuous support and encouragement I now have my test booked , I never thought I'd get this far . 'You can drive' is a driving school committed to teach you to drive the right way
Richard is a fantastic instructor, I have had many other driving instructors and never got to where I truly wanted to be. I’ve had around 60-70 lessons and I feel that money has been wasted on all the other instructors. Whereas Richard has brought my driving along to a point where I want to be at, not just this Richard also understands the difficulties I have with my eyes and uses his empathy towards this very sensitive issue and instead of making me feel worthless over this particular issue he encourages me to carry on and to look at driving in a different perspective.Overall the driving school is fantastic and so is Richard the whole concept of youcandrive is that youcandrive and with Richard you truly can.
I thought I would never drive in my life as I had already taken around 30 lessons from a different instructor and couldn’t make much progress. I decided not to take it up again until I moved to Basildon and felt driving was an absolute necessity with 2 kids. Then I just started my classes with Richard not with a real interest but just an intention to somehow make it. But little by little he helped me out coping with my anxiety and progressing little by little. I am yet to take my test and still want to post a review because the test is quite irrelevant as I definitely feel confident that.I CAN DRIVE as the name suggests.. So many thanks to Richard for making me feel great about myself. I definitely vouch this school if u want to learn the right way and the right things.. and be safe..
