Standard Tuition Terms and Conditions

A valid licence (full/provisional) must be shown to the instructor before commencing driving instruction (first lesson only). The student is legally responsible for informing both the instructor and DVLA of anything that may affect their entitlement to drive.

Payment is required in full before or the same day as confirming the lesson. Uncompleted discounted lessons will be rounded up to the full the cost of the lessons taken before refunding any balance held on account. A £10 Admin fee will also apply.

Cancellation notice: Failure to give 48 hours notice to change or cancel any booked lesson will result in the student being charged the full cost of the time booked. Multiple consecutive cancellations may result in that space being offered to another student. (Driving tests will be given precedence over normal lessons).

The instructor will make every effort to fulfil lessons booked. However, cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience / cancellation caused due to circumstances beyond their control. The instructor will accept responsibility for the cost of a new test appointment when a test is cancelled or postponed due to vehicle breakdown or instructor illness if an alternative cannot be supplied / arranged.

Driving tuition will be delivered by a qualified ADI (DVSA Approved Driving Instructor). The format will follow a syllabus in line with the DVSA driving test along with additional knowledge to help students deal with traffic beyond the test.

Tuition vehicles may be fitted with recording devices for insurance and training purposes.

All personal belongings brought to the tuition vehicle remain the responsibility of the student.

Any behaviour deemed by the instructor to be abusive or offensive will not be tolerated and will result in the driving lesson and possibly any future bookings being terminated.

Damage to the tuition vehicle, all repair costs will be charged to the student (or students’ parent/guardian if the student is under 18yrs of age) in charge of the vehicle at the time of any damage to any and every part of the tuition vehicle when the damage is caused by the student not following instruction or wilful neglect to normal driving behaviour as set out by the DVSA Official Highway Code.

Driving test booking; the instructor will make every effort to ensure the student reaches test standard as quickly and safely as they’re able. However, if a practical test is booked without consultation with the instructor or the instructor believes the student has not reached a suitable standard for the test, consent to use the instructor’s vehicle for the test maybe withheld or withdrawn (minimum of two weeks’ notice will be given).

The cost of attending a driving test in the instructor’s vehicle will be £100 this is liable to change if the student lives outside the test centre area being attended.

Driving test appointments cancelled or changed by the DVSA at any time are wholly the responsibility of the DVSA and not the instructor. All fees relating to the vehicle hire are still payable in full and should be reclaimed via the DVSA.

In the unfortunate event of a complaint resolution MUST be addressed with the instructor first. The instructor will not engage with any students’ families or relatives unless the student is under 18yrs of age at the time of a complaint being raised.

Booking a driving lesson with You Can Drive Ltd you agree to these terms and conditions; you agree that they have been read, or the student has asked for and received a full explanation and understands any deviation from these terms will result in the instructor terminating further instruction.
